ACCREDITATION
In Australia, English Language Colleges are accredited by their state governments. In the state of New South Wales, the NSW Government Vocational, Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) has delegated this authority to the National English Language Teaching Accreditation Scheme (NEAS).

To be accredited a college must satisfy a set of quality standards and criteria across the areas of management and finance; learning environment; specialist staff; curriculum and assessment; and student services.
Colleges are monitored on an annual basis. Accreditation with NEAS means that MEC and its courses are registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students
(CRICOS).
MEC’s CRICOS provider code is : 01558j
You can verify this by going tothe CRICOS website at : http://cricos.dest.gov.au/Institution/InstitutionSearch.aspx
and keying in 01558j in the field : CRICOS Institution code
and then clicking on the 'Start Search' button.
Registration on the CRICOS means that genuine students enrolled in MEC courses are able to acquire a student visa for the duration of their course.
MEC is also a member of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET).

ACPET was established in 1992 and represents over 400 private education and training organizations. The ACPET mission is to provide quality, choice, innovation and diversity in Australian education and training for individual national and global development.
MEC is also a member of the ACPET Tuition Assurance Scheme (TAS). This means that if for any reason MEC ceases operations, an enrolled overseas student would be relocated to a comparable course at another ACPET member institution. All accredited and registered Australian education providers are required to belong to such a scheme by law. Basically, it is insurance for the student that they will always be provided with a course for which they have paid.
