BANK ACCOUNT

If you open a bank account within the first week of being in Australia, only a passport is required to open the account. After 1 week you will need more I.D.

You should also take a letter from the college that states you are a full-time student to be exempt from some fees and charges.

There are many banks and credit unions in the area.

Students may open an Access Advantage bank account at the local ANZ branch in Brookvale. As they are students they will not have to pay any monthly account fees. The account allows them to make unlimited withdrawals from ANZ ATM’s across Australia and unlimited EFTPOS transactions, as well as telephone and internet banking.
